Mother-Ease Cloth Diaper Giveaway

Mother-ease has a great introductory offer for anyone who wants to try their cloth diapers and covers. For a special low price you can get a cover, liner, and fitted diaper with shipping included, one per customer. I received a Mother-ease Introductory set to review with Esther. I chose the Sandy's small in bamboo terry along with an airflow cover in size small. A friend of mine always raves about the airflow cover, so I was excited to try these.

If you read my posts this week on newborn cloth diapering, you already know some of my thoughts on these diapers. I had a big stash of Kissaluvs that Esther quickly grew out of but the Sandy's small is much more generously sized. At about 11 lbs, it fits Esther well and also has some room to grow. For pictures comparing the sizes, see my post here. This is one of the softest diapers we have, the bamboo is great! As for absorbency, I do have to include the liner each time I use the diaper. I wish that the liners came with the diapers rather than being sold separately since I think they are pretty necessary.

The cover is great also. It is a nice big size with a good fit around the legs. The elastic is soft enough to not pinch or leave marks. It fits well over any of the fitteds and prefolds that we have. My comparison post on diaper covers is here if you want to read more.

Back in September, I reviewed Mother-ease training pants. If you read that post you already know that the Mother-ease factory uses 100% green power! The prints for their covers and training pants were specially developed to represent environmentally sensitive regions of the world. Very cool; a great company to support. If you decide to make a purchase from Mother-ease, please let them know that you read about them on my blog.

I have an introductory set to give away to one reader! This includes a white cotton small Sandy's diaper, a liner, and a medium savanna print cover. To enter the giveaway, leave a comment and tell me why you cloth diaper. Leave another comment if you're a follower of my blog for an extra entry. I'll close this on March 27th at midnight. If you're new to my blog, take a look around. I have lots of baby product giveaways going on this month you won't want to miss!

*Giveaway closed. Congrats to Isi and Jas' mom!*

  2. Enter me! I cloth diaper because cloth diapers are so much cuter on a baby's bottom than plastic diapers. Well, that and the TON of disposable diapers I will save from the landfill with each of my kids.

  4. And for the big question...why to cloth diaper?

First it was because of savings. I figured out the numbers and it just made financial sense. I'm working part time, Daddy works from home we could keep up with the laundry and he was at least open to the idea.

Around this time I started learning about the tons of time it takes for diapers to decompose. And how they should be emptied of human waste (just like cloth) to prevent ground water issues. And seriously how much trash we would generate with having multiple children.

Then I got my first diapers in the mail...CUTE! And they are just plain colored bumGenius. I was so excited to see my baby in his diapers once he got here.

Then I actually got to put him into his KL0s...I loved how they looked so much that I didn't put a cover on them for a few days. Which led to lots of laundry and I got with the program. I really loved his fluffy, cute bottom in his diapers!

Then we went to our Ped. He isn't a doctor that I would consider overly 'natural' at all and yet he complemented us on using cloth at least once for each of the first 4-5 visits. (Even as his nurse questioned why we would use cloth, especially cloth wipes!) He only has a few patients who use cloth, but thinks they are SOOOO much better for their skin and wish more parents would do it. With some of the sensitive skin issues we've had with the little guy he has told us that we definitely made the right choice. Even if we were in disposables he would want us to switch!

Now I diaper for all the above reasons...and it isn't a big deal. Daddy is totally onboard and even has been known to try and talk friends into giving it a shot! We are busy building up our stash for baby 2 and can't wait to see them in the little diapers. CUTE! :)

    Thanks for all the giveaways,
    Heather

  9. i cloth diaper because, it saves us SO much money. with more than one baby in diapers at a time, it's so much easier to wash than buy diapers every week!! plus after i started cloth i realized all the yuck that was really IN the disposables, and felt awful for ever doing it!

  12. Why do we cloth diaper? For both environmental reasons and for cost reasons. And - bonus! - our daughter rarely had diaper rash for the 2 years she was cloth-diapered. And now we're trying to fill in the gaps in our "stash" with baby#2 on the way.:)

  13. We cloth diaper because we couldn't stomach the idea of going through thousands of disposable diapers during our son's first few years. The bonus is that we save money and they are so, so cute!!

  15. I cloth diaper primarily because it saves us money, also because of throwing all that human waste doesn't seem like proper disposal.

  16. We started cloth diapering for the wrong reason. We don't have trash pickup and paper diapers do not burn, recycle, or compost. I didn't want to mess with trying to dispose of them somewhere else so we started using cloth very hesitantly and with everyone telling us we were crazy. We continue using cloth because we LOVE it!! I love the cute prints, the fact that my daughter never gets rashes, I never have to go down that isle at the store, we're not contributing to the mountainous piles growing in our landfills, and probably most of all I'm not putting toxic chemicals next to my little ones bum.

  17. I cloth diaper because my little guy has sensitive skin like mine. Also it is cheaper and better for the enviornment. The best part is he looks so cute in cloth.

  24. We started cloth diapering because we were so sick of the blowouts we were experiencing with disposables. It has since changed into knowing what is better for our children's bare butts and the environment.

  39. I originally started cloth diapering because it was cheaper (and because my husband wanted to). Now, I like doing it because cloth diapers just do a much better job than disposables. They're better for the baby (and the environment), they don't leak as much, and they're just cute. =)

  51. I haven't actually started cloth diapering yet (I'm due in 2.5 weeks) but I'm definitely committed to cloth diapering when she gets here. Disposables are horrible for the environment. A huge pile of plastic and poop in our landfills is not a gift I want to give my child. There are some nice short-term perks too - less diaper rash for her, more money in the bank for us - so all around I think it's a win.

  52. We're adopting our first. But I want to cloth diaper for several reasons. 1.To save money. 2. Protect my baby from the chemicals and unnatural fibers of disposables. 3.To save millions of pounds of trash. 4.They're cuter than disposables.

  60. I would really love to cloth diaper. The biggest issue for me is cost. Besides our finances sometimes making it cost-prohibitive, I'm afraid to spend a lot of money on diapers to find out that we don't like cloth. With three kids - two in diapers - money is a really big motivator. LOL
